Initial Idea for FMP

My initial idea was to create an installation themed around a bedroom scene of a child. As you move further into the space the animals from the comfort blanket/quilt evolve into 3D creatures and a forest. These represent the emotional and social challenges of growing up.

As you advance further into the room the back wall becomes the teenagers bedroom. The inspiration for that probably ordinates from seeing Kylie Minogue’s Dressing room in the Performance and Theatre department of the V&A.

The third wall would be dedicated to the identity of the young adult, (possibly a symbolic creature showcasing all the elements that have gone towards creating the individual.

For example grasshoppers usually represent a symbol of freedom, independence, and enlightenment.
